Andrea Joy Cook

A.J. Cook A.J. Cook, a Canadian actor, best known for playing Jennifer Jareau (JJ) on The Criminal Minds and The Virgin Suicides in 1999 and 2003, respectively. He has also been known for various characters. Cook's TV credits are Dead Like Me, Tru Calling, Higher Ground, Bluemoon, PSI Factor, Goosebumps, Elvis Meets Nixon, In His Father's Shoes, Laser Hawk and the TV film Island Heat. She has appeared in the feature films Blood Suckers, Final Destination II, The House Next Door, Out Cold, Ripper, The Virgin Suicides, Kisses and The Tinker. Cook was born in Whitby by her father Mike who is the school's teacher, and her mother, Sandra, who is a psychiatrist. Cook was raised by her brothers, Angela Nathan and Paul. She is a Mormon and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a child she took the ballet, tap as well as jazz classes. Following her participation in a variety of dance competitions, she only took up acting at the age of seventeen. Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze was her inspiration to become an actor. Then, in August 2001 Cook became engaged to her long-time love Nathan Andersen, whom she met in a film class during her time at Utah Valley University. They have a son. Mekhai Allan Andersen was born 13 September 2008. She is currently residing in Los Angeles
