Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actress best famous for her character House in the Fox Medical drama House. Growing up with conservative Jews in Wayne, New York City was where she set her sights to study the theater at Tisch. However, very quickly she began to be active in the club scene and made enough noise to get recognized by the media, concurrently, becoming aware of the devastating effect of AIDS. She eventually used her experience as well as her celebrity to create and write the musical called Positive Me which she starred. Awake on the Wild Side was her next job.
